Background
More ferrous oxide turns the soil a reddish-brown tint – hence the name Rugiens. It is a Premier Cru vineyard, but Jean-Luc’s vines are from an unclassified portion with a slightly more eastern exposure.
Tasting Notes
A powerful wine, with lots of earthy dark berry fruit. Rich, deep flavors, great balance and a long finish of dark chocolate and cassis.
